BA XR Bug mesh

I was told my my local ford dealer that they don't have mesh gaurds that go in the bumper to stop the radiators getting filled with bugs. I had the mesh on the SS and was surprised how many bugs got caught in it and how much easier it was to clean than the radiator.

Anyway I was also told that the president of the XR club or something similar to that made very nice little jobbies with XR in the center similar to the FPV ones on the GT.

So my question is does this person reside on these forums and if so do you still make these and how much are they.

Cheers
Pete

Thanks Laminge, I was going to talk to Rob about some other things so I guess this kills two birds with one stone.

Re: BA XR Bug mesh

Are there any other grilles out there that don't have Herrods stamped in the middle?

I'd be happy with a big standard mess grille with no writing at all.

Re: BA XR Bug mesh

Having the lower grill won't stop many insects going into the radiator. I have a piece of flyscreen between the grill and the radiator. I read a post somewhere that a Ford tech said Ford did'nt want anything in front of the radiator (screens ect) because it would effect the air flow, but having a radiator full of grasshoppers and insects would'nt help either. Here is a thread that I posted a while back about the lower grill.

Re: BA XR Bug mesh

That would be the president of the Qld XR6/XR8 Club, go to www.xrclub.com and then go to the forums and you will find the info.
