Apparently it's a new rule from the factory. Seems like they can't be bothered the hassle of putting them on just any car, less chance of an error and less line complexity. Probably had some go on the wrong cars and the dealers hadn't charged. Should be some happy customers out there with a pleasant surprise and others pissed off they weren't fitted
It'll clearly be a lot easier and more profitbale for Ford to do it this way as they won't be flogging off so many wheels with such a small margin.
The sales-manager reckons he'll try to put on one during pre-delivery for the same price, but only because they allowed me to order it in the first place. From now on they won't be accepting orders for it.
Friend had a similar experience, told he couldn't have leather trim unless he also orders rear power-windows. Didn't intend to have rear passengers so didn't want them. Should've ordered a ute instead...
