Just bought a brand new XR6 last Thursday and am over the moon about it. Goes hard and drives great.
Now (5 days later), i hear Ford is offering 5 year warranty on all their run-out vehicals. Although it sound like i 'just missed out' on the warranty deal, does anybody know when the deal actually started?

Ring up Ford customer service line, get all the info and ask if you can have that 5 year warranty cover also, it cant hurt to ask..

Heef100 was your car bough adversised and sold as a a run-out?
If so I'd contact the dealer and for with a well penned letter stating your claim.

I had placed a new vehicle order just before Ford changed spec and made some of my option selected standard fitting, a quick letter and the price was adjusted so I had more to spend on other toys. The dealer said to me "Dont ask, Dont get".

The 5 year warranty isn't as good as it sounds. Unlike some other manufacturers extended warranties, this one is not actually a Ford warranty, even though they put their name on it. It is underwritten by Swan Insurance, and has limits on claims of (about) $2000 per claim, and only "X" amount of claims per year.It is NOT the same as the Factory warranty, so you haven't missed out on much.

I have had dealings with these types of "warranties" before, and they are definitely nowhere near as good as new car Factory warranty.

Rang up the info line only to find out that the deal started on Sunday the 21st of Nov. Missed out by 3 days
Have heard from a few others that bought their dream cars last week as well. Sorry to here guys.

I thinks holdens is the same, had a good read of it and hardly sounds worth the extra bikkies if they aint gonna cover everythin properly.
