BA XR8 Fuel Economy

I am looking at buying a manual BA XR8 ute, can anyone please enlighen me on the expected fuel economy both around town and on the highway?
I am currently driving a automatic BA XR6 Sedan and am keen to compare the economy.

Re: BA XR8 Fuel Economy

Every vehicle will be different on fuel, and depend's alot on how you drive as not everyone drive's the same but expect around 14-16 in town and 10-12 hwy but if you are in real heavy traffic that fiqure may be a little conservative.

They can go as high as near 20 in crap traffic.. but I also get ~11 on the open road which isn't bad for the power and comfort.

Re: BA XR8 Fuel Economy

I do a mixture of city and freeway, usually hovers around 15-15lt/100km, get around 450km to a tank, but have got over 700km twice before

But sink the boot in and use a tank in 300 or less

I usually get around 19-20L/100km average.
Thats all city driving in sydney, get around 380-400 to the tank.
Havnt taken it on the freeway for a long drive yet...

Re: BA XR8 Fuel Economy

Around 19-20L/100km average (city driving) as well based on the static trip read out, but while I'm driving the 'dynamic' read out shows figures ranging between 8 & 12.

The cars only done around 6000km and get around 380-400 to the tank. I am expecting things to improve more as more km's are done.

Re: BA XR8 Fuel Economy

I have experienced some very high figures when using my ute as a delivery vehicle. Lugging a few extra 100kgs and the ute drinks heavily to be happy.

I find it impossible to get any decent fuel economy around town even with normal driving... stop start traffic is not a good environment for me.

I can however get between 10-13 (at last) on the freeway.

Re: BA XR8 Fuel Economy

I coincidentally checked my BA XR8 auto sedan this morning after a few weeks since last reset. Avge 43km/hr at 15.7l/100km. Mostly home to city and return in light traffic, mostly 70-60 km/hr signposted.

Re: BA XR8 Fuel Economy

My BA XR8 Ute runs without a load in the back almost all the time and it's not modified in any way.. it's also an auto.. to give you some idea of what to expect I get 15.4 around town and my best on the highway was 11.5.
