I have recently had a Haltech Interceptor fitted to my BA XR8 utility with exeptional gains right accross the RPM range. I have an SS Inductions throttle body and cold air intake system, BMC air filter, Pacemaker Headers and free flow twin 2.5" exhaust system. My ute is manual and was very flat below 4000 rpm in standard form and prior to the interceptor being installed. My system can be unplugged in 30 seconds and removed from the vehicle and is not detectable by the dealer. I have not had any problems with system and could recommend it to any one looking for a power and drivabilty upgrade. Wayne at WBD Automotive was most helpful with the supply and installation, whilst Phil at Geelong Tune Up did a great job with the Dyno tuning. The interceptor installed this way is great, as when I sell the car, I can simply inplug it and use it on the next vehicle as unlike the unichip, they are not specific to a certain make or model of vehicle.

Do you have any figures of gains or are you going by the seat of your pants for now.
Anyway hope its working well.

It made just over 260 kws at the wheels with over 810 nm of torque at the wheels on Phil's Dynamic Test Systems Dyno with atmospheric correction applied. This gave a gain of just on 60 kws at the wheels from standard. The drivabilty at light throttle openings and the power gains at the top end are make this a driver's car. When Phil overlayed my dyno ramp graph over the dyno ramp graph of a BA GTP with a slight exhaust mod, my vehicle had at least 5 - 10 kws at the wheels more accross the entire rev range.
The interceptor unit / kit cost $1150, Wayne at WBD Automotive charged $250 to install it with the break out loom and patch plug and Phil at Geelong Tune Up charged $220 to tune it. I thought this was good value considering the interceptor is easily removed and taken to another vehicle or sold. WBD are at www.wbdautomotive.com if you want to talk to them about this. I think they are the main Victorian Haltech Dealer.

260rwkw and 810Nm???
Sorry but that gain sounds a tad overstated...particularly the torque. APS Stage 3 turbo's only pull 750Nm with 315rwkw's

Perhaps you should phone Phil at Geelong Tune Up on (03) 5221 7244 if you doubt the figures. I have the dyno sheet fromt the first tune on the dyno which shows Max Power of 254.5 kw @ 5996 RPM and Max Torque of 807.6 Nm @ 5152 RPM. A standard BA XR8 on this dyno makes about 200 - 205 kw @ the wheels. So the actual gain is what is important, not the absolute maximum power reading. I have only posted this information to praise the Haltech Interceptor and both these workshops. I do not wish to start making so called power statements which cannot be backed up by actual figures and then confirmed by the way the vehicle drives on the road.
