Well this is suppposed to be a first,

BA XR8 with less than 300km's done a rear main seal. Looks like it was fitted incorrectly and the tool has pinched the seal in several places.

To give credit but called dealer this morning complaining of oil on my garage floor, the car was picked up from work. I went in to see it before they had identified where it had come from, went back 4 hours late and the gearbox is out, and they are already taking photos to send to FPV.

The Futura is just not the same as the XR8 though.

Just an update.

The seal is out and it seems that it was incorrectly assembled. The sealing edge looks like it was rolled over the crank and being a lip seal has not rolled back, leaving a rather large gap against the crank. Just waiting for the tool to arrive to put the new seal back in place, has to come from Tassie.

Starting to get V8 withdrawals, the TQE's are just not the same
