Re: BA XR8 Stalling Problem

Thanks for the heads-up - I emailed that link to the Ford service rep and he was quite helpful. Hopefully the lifter replacement will fix it, but I'm doubtful. Anyway I'll post here with the outcome.

Re: BA XR8 Stalling Problem

As mentioned earlier in this post, mine was stalling almost each time I pulled up. No errors on the computer were reported from the Ford dealer, they said see how it goes. I then decided to take off the plenum, I saw oil sitting in there. Cleaned it all up and the throttle body along with the sensor & plugs, it's now brand new again. I'd forgotten how good a BA XR8 manual went!, end of story.

Re: BA XR8 Stalling Problem

It's fixed!! they replaced the lifters on #4 and reflashed the computer. I was so close to selling this car and getting something 'sensible' like a 325 or something, but man I'd forgotten how much fun 389rwkw is! The car now starts and idles perfectly and revs quickly and cleanly. Loving the boss again :)
