Here we go again. Even my local tyre mart claims to be able to "flash the factory pcm" I feel we are over this edit thing. Come up with some hard facts and results (at least others provide tech info - thanks street tuner and aps) then I will listen. You are about 6 months behind posting baiting lines like this. We all know the real advantage can be used to adjust idle and rev limits.

Re: BA XR8 Stalling Problem

When I picked up my GT-P last Monday from the service department, it had the stalling problem, but also stalled occasionally whilst driving. Took it back today and had the latest program downloaded and now it's fine, but idle is about 150rpm down.

Re: BA XR8 Stalling Problem

Ford replaced the throttle body which seems to have fixed the problem. It stalled once on the way to work but I'm hoping that was a once off...

If it stalled, it isn't fixed. One off now, another later. I think we've probaly all said it was a once off. It is like living in the land of hope. I thought mine had gone away when it was good for about 3 months. When it did it again, I told myself it was a once off, until it did it again a few weeks later, then again. Once offs soon add up to not being fixed.

Re: BA XR8 Stalling Problem

well I didn't really get long to test it out as the intake hose just blew off. Thanks ford service!! $#@%#$ grrrrr

The workshops are promising that the edit will fix everything, but I'm not entirely convinced. Might try one last time with Ford service and if that fails then I'll wait to see if the edit can fix it, otherwise I'll have to sell. It's a 50k car yet it idles and stalls like an old mitsubishi. This sucks

Re: BA XR8 Stalling Problem

Update: car went back into Ford, and they're replacing the lifters on piston #4. Hopefully this will fix it as when the car's running right it's perfect :)

Re: BA XR8 Stalling Problem

Had my pcm upgraded again last thurs, car cut-out again Friday.
Talked to Ford CRC again Monday and they were quite "shocked" that the problem is still there.
Mine just cuts dead and being auto have to turn key start it.

See thread BA XR8 Cutting Out

Hope you have more luck than I am having.

Cheers, Chris
