BA2 FPV Updates?

Given the Holden and HSVs are apparently seriously ramping up the power thanks to LS2 next month or so what do we know about FPV's intentions for BA2? I think there's no option to leave the engines at 290kW. It would have to be a case of 310 or more.

I was reading a post HSE made in another forum website and he was questioning the future of FPV itself.

-They have laid off 17 workers
-They have no crate engine and the Boss engines are expensive to make
-GT/P sales are not sufficient, especially since they don't have the XR
-FPR is perfoming bad

I hope he is wrong, but you never know.

Are the official LS2 power figures out yet?

All I know is FPV is hurting financially. Looking at the way they produce cars I wonder how they get ANYTHING done - my car's been there two months or so????

They are but I suspect they will continue on the back of the huffed HAD (given that Gorman has ordered one) and the continued pleading with the dealers to take stock - which most of the smart ones won't.

We are back in the position where there are hundreds in stock at the moment and that is not going to help the whole situation.

For those who are interested a 15k km GT went at the Melbourne dealer auctions today for $32k !!

So, going back to BA2 FPV what changes????

Manual gearbox is a definite change item.

Just make a "wish list"pete (a car in my garage for at least 10 months out of 12 would be a good start)

Maybe someone from FORD will read it and say they came up with the ideas in the first place , its worth a go .

Hi All,

Yeah AP has a bloody good point here. The next VZ Clubsport will have 300kw. If Ford don't do some serious engine upgrades we will be back like the AU1 days and the VTII with the GenIII introduction.

I can bet that if the clubbie gets 300kw, the SS would be at 255-260kw, which will blow the doors of the current 290kw GT.

SS is confirmed 250kW. My sources say the Boss isn't changing - all the changes are in wheels, gearboxes etc.

You are correct ElPete although they do have a 30kw upgrade option up their sleeve if they deem it necessary.

So, now that BA2 Ford is announced the FPV stuff is yet to arrive. But here goes:

19 inch wheels standard across the range
6 speed manual
Stripes on ute
New paint colours
Power remains 290kW

Anyone know anymore?
