The Beast is fixed!!!

Well, after all of the drama, my baby is home! The clutch is fixed. The gearbox oil had leaked into the clutch and they replaced most of it, machined the flywheel, fixed all the leaks and it is all good! The clutch is really light now, which is weird, but it is finally no longer slipping and it feels great....

I got all the work done at Maughan Thiem Ford - changed dealers - and they were really good - no dramas about fixing it either! They spent 3 days on it, even fixed some stuff I didnt know what was wrong - all under warranty!

Interesting, I had the chip removed before I took it in, for obvious reasons, but they didnt take long to figure out it had had a chip in it - ha ha. But they didnt care, which was cool! Not like it would have made much difference anyway....

So, once I am used to the new clutch, I will be doing a rematch with my Dad in his AU Fairmont!!!! Oh yeah, and after the chip is put back on Friday!!! Ha ha.

It's all good!!!! Finally!

Good to hear! You better win this time or else you will never live it down. Somehow I suspect your Dad may have something else up his sleeve, so you better watch out!

Re: The Beast is fixed!!!

Do you guys know my Dad or something? He he. Yeah, I bet he has something up his sleeve, like a new T or something.... Ha ha.

Well, with the new clutch, which is really weird, I will be ready for him this time! I told him I only let him win that day coz it was his birthday - he he. Didnt believe me though.... Cheeky bugger. :)))

As for the car and the service, yeah it was better than expected. I am fairly used to being treated like a stupid female, or as if the car is my hubby's or something.... The guys there were actually really good - they took the time to chat, they rang me 5 times a day at work with updates on how it was going, they let me have the loan car for free the whole time, and they appeared to have done a pretty good job - which is what counts at the end of the day. They even found some stuff that I didnt know about and fixed it all, so that was cool.

The clutch is really light though, for some reason - like REALLY light. And there is a lot of travel to get it to engage, so it is like learning to drive it all over again! Very strange, but not terribly bad - I am just curious as to why it is so much lighter than the previous one ever was.... They were concerned about it too, and rang me about it - they tested it pretty thoroughly, and found nothing wrong with it so I guess it is just the way it is....

They were even really good about the chip issue - which they did find out about, despite the fact I had it removed before I took it down there. They told me they knew about it and couldnt care less coz they send people up to my guys to get chips anyway, and they sell Herrod modified cars anyway...

Tomorrow the chip gets put back in, it will be re-dynoed coz it probably had lost a fair bit of power even before the chip was in.... and there will only be one thing left to do....DAD, where are you? He he.

Oh, on a side note, when I went to pick it up last night, there was a guy there picking up his Venom AU XR6 with his g/f..... the service guy was telling them all the stuff they had done to it.. and the g/f was standing there making all these comments about how Ford are crap, how he should have bought a Holden, etc, etc..... the service guy and the owner were just smiling and rolling their eyes..... Just thought that was funny!

Re: The Beast is fixed!!!

Great news i can recommend Maughan Theim Ford they are a great bunch of people, and they are SA's Herrod Motorsport dealer too so they are more accepting of mods than other dealers. Now wishing we bought our car there after the many problems we had with the dealer.

Hi again Ben

Yes, I have found MTF to be pretty good dudes - they were very nice to me and didnt do the usual "here is a chic, she is an idiot" thing.... maybe they were scared of me! Ha ha ha. I bought mine at Adrian Brian, who were ok, but was told they would throw a hissy fit if they went to work on my clutch and then found out about the chip.....

Clutch is still a bit dodgy though, its gonna have to go back to MT - the travel is too far for it to engage and I have to sit with the seat heaps far back to use it properly, and Magic Mike checked it after, and in his words, it is shit. He reckons I have to get it taken back to get fixed coz it is unnacceptable, but I dont think I will have a problem with them doing it....

So yeah, even though it is a LONG way from me, I will be getting my F6 there for sure!!!! One day! I saw their Herrod T there as well!

Cool - yeah I saw a young guy called John Williamson about the F6 while I was there.... but I wouldnt mind meeting them all... Andrew Cook and Evan helped me out in the service area too - Evan has the Acid Rush Herrod XR8 with the 18s - nice!

Yeah, they only have to adjust it, that's all, no dramas. Gonna ring them Tues (love public holiday here!)
