I inadvertently ran over a Silent Cop in Drummoyne a few weeks ago, and on getting new tyres fitted they told me I had bent a rim quite badly - to the point of having to get a new one.

(I want to bleet expletives now - that's the first effing Silent Cop I've seen - or didn't see in this case - in over 10 years! )

At least now I have an Alloy Spare, even if it is slightly out of shape. It's been to sydney and back a few times over the past few months, so it only gives a mild vibration at highway speeds when it's on the back. I'd imagine it would give quite a kick if I put it on the front.

Does anyone know of any places in Newcastle or Sydney that repair bent alloy rims? Is a repair of this type even possible?

I wouldnt bother, the 17 inch rims are that popular now you should be able to buy 1 or 2 cheap somewhere.... If you can't find one ring up Wheelking, they sell them www.wheelking.com.au..

Silent cops are those metal lumps they put at intersections so you dont cut the corner. (I think?)

And yeah, i havent seen one in a very long time.
