Hi people i just wanna say hi to everyone im new to this club, i used to own a EB fairmont as my first car (was duxnuts ). Now i have a 2006 BF falcon ute on dedicated gas and i have a strange problem.

When i turn my headlight switch so that all the interior background lights and headlights are on, they come one. But the second i goto indicate right or left, the interior lights (aka the dash background lights and the gear stick background lights and etc) all cut out. Then if i fidget with with the indicator stick up or down quater turns with the indicator the lights that went out out flicker on, depending on the poistion of the indicator. Ive checked all the fuses and even replaced the relay that controls those lights, and no success. I am an electronic and communication engineer and very capable of diagnosing faults, but this one has got me stumped. Im gonna take the colomn plastics off soon the investigate, but i wanted to see if anyone else has had this problem (OR SIMILIAR ONE) and what they have done to fix it???

It's sounds like a fault in the indicator stalk assembly or perhaps a plug coming loose. I don't think this is a common problem so you may have to take some plastic's off around the indicator stalk and see if everything is tight. The stalk assembly may even need replacement.

I think there is a dimmer switch that can alter the illumination of the dash lights etc that could be worth having a check of too.

yeah my next mission is to try to take the colomn apart and check the stalks connections. Though if anyone has any good ideas keep posting them. cheers peeps.

Yep take the trip of check the conectors . Had the problem with my old MQ Patrol when i put the blinker on the parking lights would go out
