Looking for XB GS/GT bonnets and is becoming very frustrating trying to get one.

What I would like to know if the recess the bonnet pins sits in is separate piece from the bonnet or factory moulded?

I was thinking of getting XC GS bonnet instead and have pins fitted if there are kits available.

There is a stamped Lip on the Bonnet Skin in an XB GT Bonnet and a Cup Welded on from underneath.
Bonnets are around if you look. I picked up an XB GT Bonnet for $200-00 a couple of years ago with no rust.

I have an XB GT bonnet that I am selling, it has only surface rust
but very straight.(It is definetely only surface)
Have had it for years,and can email pics if required.
Picked it up for $450, but just to get rid of it will sell for $400.

whoa! 400?? i just sold 1 for 120. keep looking bud. no offence tick4d, but thats a bit steep. there are places around that do fibreglass xbgt bonnets to.
rarespares sells bonnet pin kits for about 90 bucks. they look identical to what the xygt's had.

I would pay $400 if i needed a decent one.. Hell i payed $800 for my XA GT bonnet. But there much more rare.

montyv8- Thats what you pay for a good one, I paid $750 for a new old stock 3 years ago. The rare spare ones are bodgey, the XY ones look noting like the XB ones.All you see on the XB ones are the bonnet pins(reccesed), the XY ones have a big black surround with the pins in this. No where near the same.

XA_GT_351- Those XA bonnets are like gold, I'd pay double that for a mickey mouse one, good find. (You can't beat an XA GT Coupe in GT Yellow Glo, if any one wants to sell one let me know)

i know what xb pins are like. and i know what xy ones look like. was merely a suggestion. if he's desperate for pins.....
i have a genuine xb gt bonnet on my xb coupe, and a genuine xa gt bonnet all wrapped up and stashed away for when my xa coupe is finished.
i also have another genuine xb gt bonnet, complete with pins, but some idiot has cut a hole in it for a shaker. i'll be fitting an xc cobra scoop to that to cover the hole.

we got a genuine xb gt bonnet... never knew it was worth THAT much.... its been resprayed, but paint applired to thick, and got crows feet.... also got gen pins, and the 2 lil scoops.... which have neva been fitted to a car
