BOSS 260 BOSS 290 whats the Difference??

Someone please tell why the XR8 has 260kw and the GT/P has 290 whats the difference please

the main difference is the cam shafts & the E.C.U.

apart from the cam caps that are broached out to accomadate the higher lift cams & a set of higher comp pistons & a moderfied con rods & a different crank, i belive that the rest is identicle

They also have s/steel valves, and the balancing process is a lot more involved

They say that they put a special coating on the pistons as well.

Differences as follows:

FPV high-compression pistons and piston ring pack
FPV re-engineered conrods with fully floating gudgeon pin
FPV high-lift inlet camshaft (13mm lift)
FPV high-lift exhaust camshaft (12mm lift)
FPV valves, valve springs and finger followers
FPV balanced crankshaft
Heavy-duty bearings.
