Does anyone know why a couple of the Phase IV's were painted Brambles Red?.
I assume it has something to do with the Brambles Security company corporate colour.
Were they a sponsor?.
What was the paint code?.
The reason I am asking is that my HK Monaro (it's ok I own a Ford also) was supposedly painted this colour by the Holden factory. I'm guessing it was a company car for Brambles Security.
it has nothing to do with brambles as a company. From memory the colour had something to do with with the bramble bush, the berries of which are red !!
I will stand corrected but I have never heard about the company haviong any involvement in racing let alone sponsoring cars.

Can't say I know if it had anything to do with Brambles Company. Having said that, Ford did a lot of "Special (tm)" colours for some companies, like Gallaher Silver for the XR GT, Rothmans Blue for the XA and Shell Yellow for the XY........
These vehicles had SPEC as the paint code on the ID Tag.

Er, weren't the XR GT's "GT Gold" and no other colour???
Err, nope
As smciner1 said, there were some XR GT's painted in Gallaher Silver with red stripes running down the bonnet, roof and boot lid - Sort of 'Cobra' style but offset to the passenger side if that makes sense. Also had big white GT letters on the front doors.
They were Promo cars made for the upcoming 1967 Gallaher 500 at the Mountain. Memory fails me as to how many were made.

There was also one White and one Green XR GT built.

Any story behind those colour XR's, or were they just sold to the public?
The Green one was one of the Race Cars (I can't remember who drove it) and I'm not sure of the origins of the White one.
