you can join any club, it dosn't have to be local to get rego concession . folks here in moranbah, join the QLD gt club and get the concessional rego. i'm one of 'em
Could I butt in and ask what the deal is with club rego? I've heard about 14 different (and conflicting!) versions of what club rego actually is. The only thing I know for sure is that it's cheaper!
pretty much restricted use of your car. 15km radius of home for test and tune. sanctioned club runs plus going to or from club runs. a club run consists of 2 or more cars. take your car to be worked on (for example i'd have to travel 200km to mackay).

Yeah, I know I'd have to wait a bit for mine..! I heard it also restricted use to weekends only, but if you're right that doesn't seem to be the case. Cool. :)

if your still unsure go to the rego office and grab the sheet with the rules on.
a mate of mine had a xy gs ute on concessional for a few years as his everyday driver. he never got pulled over. mind you he drove like nanna
