Buying a new car

Hi everyone, ive just recently paid off my first car and was looking into getting a new car and it is either going to be a BA XR8 or XR6T. Central Ford in Kilmore gave me a qoute on an XR8 manual sedan, black, premium audio, 18"wheels, Momo steering wheel for $51,990 drive away. So i have two questions.
N0. 1 is this a good price?
No. 2 with all of the rumours surrounding BA2 should i hold off a couple of months before i buy and get the series 2?

Wait for the series 2 to get a better manual box. I don't think you'll get as good a price though. New models are harder to get discounts on.

Re: Buying a new car

Depand's do you care more about,
1,a better refined vehicle,
2, saving some cash,
because if you want to save money wait for series 2 and then the BA will be on runout model's, or what for series 2 and buy a better vehicle, so either way if it were me I'd wait for series 2.

Re: Buying a new car

1 = that is a good price, but as always, shop around and see what you come up with.

2 = All the rumours about BA 2 boxes are exactly that - rumours. If you're satisfied with the current choices (i.e. SSS auto or T5), then i would go ahead and buy that. The only advantage with waiting for BA2 to be a little closer (apart from seeing whats in series 2), would be that they will be wanting to move Series 1 stock quicker, so most likely even better deals.

Re: Buying a new car

I've seen local ads (Latrobe Valley Express) for Maryvale Ford in Traralgon where they have a couple of XR8s that they want to sell for $43k (manual) & $44k (auto) respectively. Well, I think they were that price. Main reason was "end of lease" or something, but the cars were described as "new". Confusing...
