Hey guys.
Calder Park went off!!!!!!
STOKEB and myself headed down early Sunday morning and were one of the first few their.
We got off to a slow start as the track was not opened till 12.
There were probably a total of 8-10 cars using the drag strip at one time, less crowded the Heathcote.
14.5 @ 96.5 MPH was the best time recorded by STOKEB's newly rebuilt beast. I must say, it does not sound like any other I6.... ITS A FREAKEN ANIMAL!!!!!!!!!!!
Well done to Hus for that, he was quite happy with his result(who wouldn’t), can't say the same for the Nissan that lost to him
My car developed a few issues during the day... similar to what happen to Rollin.
My best run was my 1st, 14.9 (a new PB, but down on MPH). The car was dying out at high RPM, and got progressively worse every run. By my 5th run It was refusing to make power past the 4000rpm mark, but still managed a 15.03(slowest run for the day).
I was glad to see my consistency up with 3 14.9's runs and 2 15.0 runs.
After we decided to give the 1/4 a rest, we checked out the Show N Shine, a few nice cars there.
IT WAS NOW THUNDER DOME TIME!!!!!!!!!!
Probably one of the biggest rushes I have ever had in my car. After a few slow laps, I gradually picked up speed and I'm proud to say that I well and truly clocked the Ghias speedo. The reading sat on 199.. and the revs kept climbing.. what a rush!!!!
I must say I had a great time with the only down fall being a stone chip on my bonnet from the dome
Can't wait to get out there again.
Simon
