Capa Flash tuner for the AU

Ive just read in the latest Street Fords magazine (issue 15) about the flash tuner installed on a TS50. The main benchmark they were using for improvements was the old $100 per kilowatt test. The TS50 was the 5.6 stroked version with the ESS BTR auto which has 60,000km and a full stainless steel exhaust.

When strapped to the Autotech Engineering dyno, it put out 201.5kW (270hp) at the rear wheels. Then after the six hours of tuning they came out with a maximum of 217kW at the end, an increase of 15.5kW at the rear wheels and an impressive 20kW pick up in midrange. After the magazine went to press, Autotech was planning to have the car back in for one more day to see whether if a few more kWs could be had.

Now this was only done with plugging in the flash tuner and the $100 per kilowatt barrier was reached.

Reading this I am seriously considering the Ford Flash tuner with the custom dyno tune for my AU i6 (after I get my LSD).

My question are:
1. With this would my car be able to yield a 20kW increase or even more?
2. Does CAPA or anyone have any confirmed results from a relatively stock AU i6 non VCT with the Flash?
3. And would it be preferred if i upgrade to a higher flowing intake and exhaust system e.g a pod in a box/K&N panel filter, larger diameter intake piping, extractors and mandrel bent exhaust, to yield better results from/with the Flash tuner?

Thanks,
Matt

Re: Capa Flash tuner for the AU

Do all your mods first, then get the flash done.
CAI will get 4 to 5 KW
The RIGHT! exhaust/header combo will get 10 to 15
Then the flash could give 5 to 15 kw or there abouts.
On avarage you should get about 30 to 40 all up, which would be very cost effective..

Noboss, has pretty much summed it up... I would look at doing all your bolt on modifications first, to get the engine breathing the best possible, both on inlet and Exhaust sides..

Then get one of our many tuners to custom tune your car, this will then be tuned to all the mods done.. Also if auto improve shift points and gear changing etc..
