Thanks to Garrett, we were able to peel off a few quarter-miles in Detroit with an XR6 manual. Once your left hand learns to shift, it’s a 14.3-second ride with a trap speed of 98 mph while 60 mph passes in 5.9 seconds, the Barra roaring nicely to its 5900-rpm redline and the turbo whooshing hard. The power flows in a silky wave from the naturally balanced six, a gentle push at first that quickly grows into a linebacker’s shove once the big turbo gets its wind up. Minus the driver, there are 3849 pounds to stop, and the ABS disc brakes bring the Falcon down from 70 mph in a commendable 169 feet.
This begs the question, WHEN ARE FORD OZ GOING TO START EXPORTING THE BA FALCON?!?
Sorry to shout, but from what I've read, the BA wouldn't have too much trouble selling if it was exported...

It may be a repost, but in light of the BA MK2 info released today, am I going crazy, or is that XR6T a MKII in SHockwave???
Look below the Falcon badge on the rear shot and there seems to be another badge just where the new MKII badge goes.
Was there really a 5 speed in that car or was it a 6 speed test mule at Garrett for some reason?

From what I understand there were a few people who picked up at the launch of the BA the fact that there are the follwoing interesting mods in the BA already......Fuel tank under the back seat and the firewall in the engine bay ready for the transfer of the master cylinder to the left hand side.....No one from Ford would admit that they have exports in mind but there is a good chance!!!
They would need a serious boost in production numbers first, there were/are waiting lists for BA's in just Australia, they would need to build several 100 more per week to be able to cope

The only problems for Ford to export the BAs to the States would be that they would have to increase the production lines to meet the demands, and then they would also be pushing GMH for volume in sales and regain the market.
