Question Car stalling - Auto tranny

On my long journey home (2hrs, usually 20 min but stupid ppl in wet conditions) ,slowing down for a set of lights the car would shake (as if to stall) and then the battery light would come on briefly. It would disappear as quick is it would turn on and the car would stop shaking. Ok I may have had a few things running (lights, demister and wipers) but I would have thought it wouldn't suck all the power like that. Its happened once before when I drove into the driveway the car just cut out and the battery light came on. The weather was fine that day and only had the CD player on. Anyone else come across this prob??

Re: Car stalling - Auto tranny

This developed in my AU XR6 HP series 1 in the last 6 months. Usually happened when braking hard and turning. Like up to stop sign where road curves. Would almosts stall, revs drop low, then recover. When it first started, actually did stall a few times.

Had in dealer twice, the cleaned out all the 'varnish' buildup in the intakes, but didnt fix it.

Fixed the problem 3 weeks ago. Traded it in on BA XR6 :)

well i haven't had it happen for a week or so now. The last time it happened was on a load run (few things running, such as a/c cd player, back and front demisters etc). The first time nothing was running. Both times I never braked hard. I also noticed it occurs when the car drops to <=500rpm. I will keep tabs on it for the next 4000km (due for the 15000km service soon).
