I say the EL Ghia in V8 form or XR8 - better motor, nicer front (im not a fan of the ef front in XR models.
Also totally off topic here, are those EB S wheels in your sig and if they are did you polish them? Can you email me some pics? they look really good karlth@bigpond.com
NZinAUS, they are EB XR8 rims in the avatar, they didn't need polishing as they are a machined finish, however check out my website in my sig below for an intersting read about them anyway....
carazy, I like the idea of an xr8, they look pretty scmick, but what about the extras with a fairmont, do you get any with the xr8?
Get an EF-EL V8 Ghia and try to have at least 2k left over then get a manuel conversion done, then you have the best of both worlds, luxo stuff and a V8
Rather not touch the car when I get it as far as converting to manual, would love a 5spd though, what would the 2 different cars set me back at private sale..
el xr8 5spd??
el fairmont 5.0l??

I looked up the fairmonts but I think they are all sixes (but you do get the xr6 which is what I have in my ef series 2 ghia)
Had looked into the trading post a little, but I tend only to look at the ones that have the pics.. which arent many..
Just reading something interesting about el xr's, and although I love the sound of a V8 , they seem to make a good case for the el xr6, it can be read at the link below..
I wouldn't trade my xr6 ghia for anything
comfort power and luxury just can't wait for the auto to go (so it can be replaced with a manual), if your not towing anything I would go the xr6/fairmont ghia and even then the 6 does a good job. I just can't justify the extra fuel consumption
