Cars painted

gotcha! Everything done but clearcoat inside the doors and I haven't finished the bonnet.

The last pot of undercoat had a severe reaction. It basically ate all the existing paint etc back to bare metal. So XBWGN and I had started again on the bonnet prep etc. It's the type of issue when you think "Why did I get out of bed?" It makes a right prick of itself. I've wasted probably 3 days on it. Hopefully tomorrow I am done with painting! Then I start on the interior.

We tested a small area of the bonnet with a cut and it's definately going to be nice.

Re: Cars painted

I am waiting for the bonnets second coat of color to dry as I type this message. 2 more color coats and 4 clear to go

I spent most of the day prepping the bonnet and putting the rest of the car together. Pitty when I put the bonnet in undercoat I forgot to protect the tops of the guards and got undercoat on them. Just as well I have to rub them down with 1200 grit before I cut and polish it anyway. Hows that for lucky? If I'd rubbed them down I'd have to redo them.

Can you tell I am in a rush to get it done?

Pics probably won't happen till tomorrow earliest but you could be waiting awhile. I'll post pics of it off the gun but it'll probably be covered in dust (dry over spray). I'll wipe off as much as I can. Then I'll post pics again of it when it's cut'n'polished.

Re: Cars painted

lol well you sort of are right. I haven't painted the sills yet. They are going gloss black but they are being sprayed via a aerosol can.

Re: Cars painted

hehehe yup overspray is still flying in the air. Thats what you can see. I took that pic that soon after completing it. The paint on the bonnets still wet. You can actually see it drying in the pic (dry patches).
