Had a look under our 500km old XR6T, found that the front wishbones (cast iron) are un painted and have surface rust developing already. For Ford not to paint the wishbones can't be right........can it?

I think what you will find is the iron is pre-treated. While it looks average on the surface, the rust will not escalate any further than that. Worth making an enquiry if it concerns you.

BAAAAAH if you cant see it without having a look underneath then i wouldnt be worried about it. I think our AU2 had a similar thing.

Lol, even a Mercedes has rusts under the car... Its suposed to happen... If you dont want to have any rusts then dont drive in rain or mud.. You cant keep your car in showroom condition!

All the more reason to make them out of alloy.

Lighter, more corrosion reisistant, providing better handling, better ride quality, better acceleration, better NVH, longer compontent life etc etc etc..

nothing to worry about its just cosmetic Ford stopped painting a lot of its suspension components back at start of AU i think.

just a case of more cost cutting.
