I was wondering what is better chip torque or unichip? Has anyone had either fitted to an au2 xr8 with a mild cam and what the kw output was like before and after?

I have the Unichip fitted to my AU II XR8 but I also had a K&N filter and zort's done as well at the same time, the vehicle has improved heap's, I gained 25 odd rwkw with all of the above.

If you are thinking of the difference in peak rwkw due to the fitting of the chip alone you will find that there is a broad variance in the gains people get... this is more about the setup and condition of the engine to begin with as the chips are really only to get the best out of the setup you have.

If you include the cam and exhaust etc in with the fitting of the chip then it 90% everything but the chip. With twin 2 1/4" exhaust, cam, RRs and chip I gained about 40rwkw - the chip itself gave me about 6rwkw however the difference in all-round performance after fitting the chip was just sensational. I have a ChipTorque chip.

My base on the day was 146rwkw and ended up with 159.2rwkw. Previous was 160.1 in much cooler conditions on a different dyno. Lachlan also said the BP ultimate i had in the tank was shocking. But the bumometer said its a legit 13rwkw everywhere.
Off to Willowbank as soon as I put the tailshaft in, Scored a 2peice one off Lachlan just waiting to get it fitted...

Oh, for the record, after the chip challenge and going through all the variables......I chose the chiptorque. I'm very happy with my choice too.

The difference in the overall feel of the car just has to be driven to understand. Don't stress over peak power, its the whole range which makes the car so much better.

If you have an auto I think you may get more out of the Chiptorque chip....Casper feel free to correct me on this.
