Having a discusson with a few older farts & we can't seem to agree on whether the 302 Cleveland was available first, in the XW,XY or XA Falcon range.
We've been through the 351W-351C intro mid year of the XW series & sorted that out,but any help on this would be great

Scrub, I also think the 351c came out mid XW, but I don't think the 302c came out until the XA.
Yep,the bell's are starting to ring again!
So when did the first Aussie(Geelong)built 351 Clevo appear?
Did'nt Moffat race an Aussie built 351c in his XYGTHO ? Maybe not....I seem to remember something about him heading back to the 'States for some development work with Ford!

4v 351s were available in XB GTs, these were the american motor so Moffat would have been using an american engine. I would think that the aussie 351s would have come on line during the XAs as a 2v motor.

In other words;
US 351 4V motor from XW till mid (manual) XB range.
US 351 2V motor from XY/ZD till '74-'75 XB (Australia imported all of the US casting for the clevelands in 1974). I have a heap of XB/C blocks and they all have 'C' cast into them next to the oil pressure sender. I don't know whether or not these late 70's blocks were cast here with an un-changed cast from the US or Ford Oz were still using US imported blocks?? However, I have an '82 Falcon Nascar block with 'GF' (Geelong Foundry) cast next to the oil sender.
XA/ZF Fairlane had the first 302 2V engine. If you look at the casting numbers you will note that the 302 stuff (cranks, heads & rods) have AR as part of the prefix. Now, the question therein lies, was this stuff made here or in the US? Also, were the engines assembled here from US/Aussie or US/US gear, this, I don not know.
