ok guys...i've asked this question before..and got no response...hopefully i can get one now...coz i really really wanna know...

i've looked at 2 other EA falcon engines...one a cfi..the other a mpi....both had 3.9 on the head....mine being an EA mpi....has only the code 91AB

my mums ED futura...has the code 91AA....

does anyone know what these codes mean??....

umm....just under the rocker cover to the right hand side....i think...i'll try and get a pic.....

the ones i've seen with 3.9 have been to the left hand side...

all i no is that the 91ab and the 91aa are the best heads to use if your going for performance

Alright, I have 3.9L 5 on the front.. the 5 might be something else, doesn't quite look like a 5

02 91 JB on the side just above front exhaust port

There are small differences between the heads from the EA-EF. The EF onward has a chamber set up for better high rev performance/flow. The Valves are all the same, however, there are some port differences in the heads. For best performance, the head needs to be matched to your compression ratio, and the type of manifold you have.

would the 91AB head have been fitted stock?

my car was labelled special edition...and had a body kit fitted...i was told the kit came from when the car was bought new

91AB is just a part number. EA started with 87DA and went upwards from there The EF head I have is 94DA

The part number you describe is only useful to engineers.
91 represents the year the block was cast. The AA, AB etc is only a reference and Ford apparently do not use this as a reference at all
