thanks

i test drove both before i decided on the XR6, you might miss the sound of the V8 but i think the 6 was quicker, better handling, most likely better on fuel and if you wish, probably cheaper to hot up with more power and easier to change cam etc, i sold mine as i liked the way the XE/XF handle and look but i miss the power of 4.0 ohc
go the xr8 you know you want to, I would . But as you probably worked out from the first 3 words in my post that I own one and that may have swayed my comment slightly. I think the 6 is a bit quicker but I belive that was just something all the 6 owners made up.
Just kidding
Sixes are cheaper for base mods, in value for money terms. I shoulda gone for a six in that sense, but the V8s are awesome cruisers. *Proudly bats (non-) for the V8 team*
You're not talking stock Falcon GL handling are you?!? 5.5" tyres + the suspension of a boat with a broken keel... I used to get seasick in my XE
j/k mate, I actually liked how the XE would give "plenty of warning" before you'd potentially lose control. The downside to the *very* soft suspension settings was no drifting, but then again with a 200 motor getting the wheels to spin was quite a task!

get the 6 for sure, cheaper insurance, running costs, less problems id say (tweaked taxi motor) , less police attn, and i think its much the same performance as the 8 not sure tho. Get an 8 later.
