Would you believe I just paid over $100 for a sump gasket and rocker cover gasket? Yeah, well I did. How do they justify that for a couple of fuc#en pieces of rubber?

I was going to keep this a secret until mod day but I can't... I got a Wade regrind 1004 114 and they had no shims. Apparently I need double than you normally would according to Wade. The Ford guys had none and said they didn't stock them either.

So I guess the new cam is out the window? To make matters worse I am working at 12 until 5pm today so any chance of getting them is also gone =(

Just go to Jolly's and knock the shims out of a set of rocker gear on Saturday

cant you get shims anywhere? Repco or something. When I had my cam/rocker troubles in my XF im positive the mechanic got them from repco.

the shims that you need are a 50thou (0.7mm) I can grab you a set form Just Falcons if you want call me. number in a pm

I work in bayswater, (along with Mulgrave, Stkilda rd Melbourne) just happen to be at bayswater today. 1 block away for Just Falcons. Dam 2 1/2 hours in driving to and from work each day.

You don't need shims, just a packet of washers.
The washers you need, measure 0.9mm x 10mm.
You simply space the original shim with enough washers to take up the clearance.

It sits between the shim and rocker body.

Geez luke, why didnt you go to repco like i said? can you still return it?
