Dead XR8

My son has stacked his 160,000 km EB XR8 series 1 auto(my old car) into a tree, severe lhf damage,so the car is not fixable.Insurance won,t cover it .035 on P,s.So what are the options?1 reshell it,its not officially written off and not sure its legal in SA .2 Sell off the bits 95% complete and just buy another car or .3 buy an EB 6 cyl S pack and do a V8 conversion. If anyone has had to make this decision or knows the best way to go on this please reply.Thanks.

Re: Dead XR8

Re: Dead XR8

If you can swap over the parts yourself, go for option 2 otherwise sell it in bits and buy another car.

Re: Dead XR8

Have you murdered him yet? If not go for option 3 and get him to help you do a transplant.

Re: Dead XR8

Spewing...

I'd go with what ultraforce said... And open up a can of whoopass! Sorry to hear about your loss, at least your son is ok though.

Re: Dead XR8

Speak to a lawyer, Im pretty sure there is some sort of loophole with DUI and insurance claims, there was a write up in the paper about it last year.

Re: Dead XR8

Re-shell it, then you can make certain that it won't have rattles & squeaks with a bit of personalisation. You could also tidy up the engine bay wiring while your at it. Good project to do with your son, something I hope to do when my 2 boys grow up.
