Which Diff

I wont to change to a borg warner (dont wont a 9inch) LSD disc rear ... just wondering what models had the same width diff? Was it only the XR-XY that had the narrow diff? also what models came out with one standard, so i know what to look for.

Re: Which Diff

XR-XY had the narrow housing. XA onwards is wider.

You interested in upgrading to a disc brake rear as well?

Have you thought about an XR6 ute/wagon diff?

i take it you need a housing with leaf spring perches. try a wrecked xd 351 they had the 4 pinion and if your lucky it'll have the discs already on it.

Re: Which Diff

I wouldnt worry too much about the disk brake rear end, the handbrake is a pain to set up and the disks dont perform much better than the drums anyway. why not try and source a set of finned drums instead? As to the width issue I'm not so sure that there is a difference between XR-Y and XA-E, except for the GT which was a narrower diff to allow wider rims. I'm prepared to stand corrected on that one though. In any case the spring mounts are in the same place on both diffs so the later ones bolt up anyway.

Re: Which Diff

Tote the diffs are the same sizes no matter what model GT or Falcon 500.
The XW-XY diffs are an inch narrower than the XA-XC 9" Diff's.
