I see people cutting holes in the chassis for cai looking like this...

Does this weaken the chassis? Could it make the arch crumple on a hard speed bump??? Or have I got it totally wrong???

It is a legal/roadworthy issue of sorts, but you will not notice a difference in rigidity. The mod is worthwhile if done properly. If you're still worried, get a strut brace to compensate!

If you want a cold air feed, why not run a flexible pipe down through the great big hole next to the passenger indicator then down into the wheel arch.(you must remove 1 small plastic gaurd to access the wheel arch and move the indicator plug up and over).

Oh k so that isnt the chassis so i can make that hole and it all sould be fine.

Cas I am making a aluminium heat sheild which not only sheilds the side but the top as well looks sort of like on this PRO EA on the right hand side of the engine bay where my pod filter sits to block off the hot air then I will cut that hole and put some piping in to direct the cold air up.

I was even thinking of having the pod filter sitting snug in the bumper under where the hole is cut or would it get wet???

Do u think if i had the pod sitting in snuck behind the bumper it would get water in it. The tyres would spray water in the other direction i could have a sheild up round the pod to stop it from gettin splashes on it???

Leave the filter in the airbox and just run pipes to it.
Eill get wet n shit if u put it behind bumper or whatever
