Eb Xr6

Ok, so i was aiming high with wanting to buy an el or ef falcon so i decided to go for something lower. I almost went the other way as i have found a great EB XR6 for a price that i can afford. I was just finding it very hard finding information on this forum or any other sites. I know that i found a ford forum with all of the specs, however i did not bookmark this and have no idea where to find it. If you can offer any help to where i might aquire info on this car it would be appreciated.

Cheers, Sam (almost a ford owner)

That would be Rollin's car if I'm not mistaken, he might have a bit of info on it.

Unfortunately I don't have detailed specs on hand, and would need a little time to get something uploaded. But I will say that the EB II S-XR6 is, in my opinion, a classic car. In its day it made a mockery of most Australian V8 cars on the market with its performance and handling. It was well built, quite well equipped (ABS, LSD, Smartlock on later models) and excellent value at under 30 grand.

As with any sporty car, though, the important thing to look for in a secondhand example is condition. Many will have been thrashed and abused - not the way that I'd treat a classic personally, but hey.

Let me know if you'd like me to scan an article.

I am getting the car through a ford dealer that i know so it will be checked out and i will be given the no bullshit results. So far he has only driven it, except he says that the car goes really hard and is in great nick. I will have to see it for myself first, but hopefully i will be able to buy it, as my '99 lancer will give me more than enough to buy this at cost price.

Keep the info coming, Cheers, Sam.

The EBII S XR-6 is a stealth bomber - no XR headlights to give it away!. My cousin had a white 5spd up unitl two years ago and it was a great car - I hope this one is for you too!

The figures i've got out of the November '92 wheels are;
0-100 = 7.8
400m =15.6

But in a comparo in the same mag, EB XR6 V's VP SS V6
the times are;
0-100 = 7.2
400m = 15.2@142 kilometres/ hour.

Not to shabby for an aussie six in 1992

Car 0-100 400m

EB/D XR6 7.2 15.2

BA XR6 N/A 8.1 15.8

BA XR6T 6.0 14.3

Note: All figures were taken from Wheels Magazine!

So please dont Flame me.

lol funny to be so notorious!!!!!

yeah i love my EB :)

the best i have managed is a 15.5@90MPH with a 2.2sec 60ft time.

thats with 215 tyrs, extractors and exhaust, and a 60kg stezza in the boot :)

they came with a 161kW 4.0 and a 3.45:1 LSD.

mine is manual also has cruise and the momo steering wheel. and no speed limiter. i checked. quite a few times.

and all that talk about it being a 'classic' is doing two things:

1: making me feel guilty for modding it/driving it the way i do

2:making me think my resale will be better than it really will be

i really want those ED lights though - maximum toughness!!
