unfortunately due to my financial situation (read: lack of) i may be forced to sell my EF Fairmont soon. What i would be looking to replace it with is an EB XR6. What i want to know is what is a reasonable price to pay for one. I live in Adelaide SA, and would probably be willing to go to Melbourne if the car and price was right, but first of all, what is the going price?? my guess would be around $7000-$9000 for a manual with around the 150,000 km mark?? Also, what are some common probs with these?? ie. on my EF i had to fix the aircon compressor, head gasket etc. what would probably go wrong with an EB??
Also, my Fairmont is a Nov '95, 142,000kms, lowered king springs, monroe GT Gas shocks, 2.5" cat back exhaust single Redback muffler, Pod filter, tinted windows, pioneer CD head unit, usual fairmont goodies including Fairmont alloys, Climate, power windows, velour int. etc. Would $13,500 be a reasonable asking price?? It also has 2 years remaining on warranty which is transferable. I think this would be a reasonable price, but what are others opinons.
Thanks for your help guys
Lee

Lee - Thats not an unreasonable price, it should sell quite quickly at that price, I would imagine.... dont forget to advertise it on this site if you do sell it. I know nothing on XR prices though, sorry! Check out the E-series For Sale section though, might give you some ideas... if there are any there.

How much boost?
Regarding reliability, a good XR6 will be as dependable as any other EB II. Be sure to find the best possible example and you would be unlucky to have any significant problems at all.

Hey mate , i have been looking at EBII XR6's lately, i heard there a very reliable , fast car, especially in the 5 speed. You can get them for under $8000 easy, but most will have 150,000 + k's easy.... , i havent heard of any problems with em, there WAY more reliable than EA's.
My mate recently sold his EBII XR6 for $7,200. He originally wanted $8,000 +. It had 155,00k's, was manual and it was in good nick.
Yeah i really loved his car and i was considering buying it. I just couldnt handle getting an older car than my EL. It went like a rocket as well, giving a hard time to most commo V8's!
