EB XR6 vs ED XR6

Howdy ppls,

I am in the market for a new car and after my XG xr6 fiasco I am looking for a sedan. Now I am looking at EB and ED XR6s. Accordin to the FPV site they have the same engine stats, so my first question is: are the mechanicals between the cars the same?

Secondly, is there really that much difference between the two? ED has the 4xlights, ABS, XR6 badging, crap mags, what else? EB is lighter maybe? I am not sure...

Any help would be appreciated, especiallyfrom anyone who has owned/driven both.

Cheers.

Re: EB XR6 vs ED XR6

the EB also had ABS. but apart from what you ve mentioned the only other difference is the material on the seats and doortrims.

Re: EB XR6 vs ED XR6

EB's had the momo as standard, ED's the momo was optional.

EB's are also cheaper, being older and not having the quad light front.

Re: EB XR6 vs ED XR6

Forgot to mention, some people prefer the EB wheels, whilst some prefer the ED wheels. Either way, they are sought . If you think they are crap, you can easily offload them. EB XR6's had a little XR6 sticker on the back... and are sometime referred to as not actually being an XR6. I also thought the ED's had clear indicators, whilst the EB's had orange indicators. EB's MAY be cheaper to insure... depending on your insurance company.

Re: EB XR6 vs ED XR6

Hi Dr_Hoon,

I just apgraded from an EB XR-8(to a BA XR-8).
The one difference between the EB XR's and the ED XR's is that the ED is Tickford enhanced and the EB is not, regardless whether is is a 6 or an 8.

That was my understanding.

Re: EB XR6 vs ED XR6

I thought the EB XR8 Series 1 was ford; There was no Series 1 EBXR6
EB XR8 Series 2 and EB XR6 Series 2 was Tickford.

Re: EB XR6 vs ED XR6

If you buiy an EB make sure its the later one rather than the early one.The 1st EB xr6 was call EB S-XR6 .Also had heaps of the same parts as the EA But over the Later EB`s and ED`s there is not much different than a few cosmetic changes.
I prefer the ED because of the quad lights. But that might be because i own one.

Re: EB XR6 vs ED XR6

The EBI Falcon S was not a Tickford.
The EBII Falcon S -XR6 was Tickford enhanced.
The S-XR6 was the series two.
The series one EB XR8 was by ford.
The main differences are interior, MOMO EB standard, ED optional.
Wheels, ABS, Badging and the four light front.
Apart from all the other EBto Ed upgrades.
The RED rocker cover EB S-XR6 Tickford engine and the ED XR6 engine made the same figures.
