cool EB XR8 & EL XR6 1/4 MILE TIMES

Greetings!

Well I just dragged my stock EL XR6 the other night and got a best time of 16.462. This is a little slower than my stock EB XR8 I dragged a few years ago, with a best time of 16.15.

There was an EF XR6 with a modified air filter doing 15.5's and a modified EL XR8 doing 13.9's. A BA XR6 Turbo did 15.1.

Have a great Christmas.

Re: EB XR8 & EL XR6 1/4 MILE TIMES

Was it a hot day? All those times seem slow, except for the EL XR8 (though it could even be slow compared to what it may usually do?).
EL XR6 manuals typically run mid to low 15's, and BA XR6T's usually run low 14's, auto or manual.

Rick.

The handbrake was off and both of the cars are autos.

Cheers!

I would of still expected an auto XR6 to be at least in the high 15's. What was your mph and 60' time?

Re: EB XR8 & EL XR6 1/4 MILE TIMES

That is piss slow, my ED is faster than that! I can hit 16 flat easy and better that again if I try properly.

Somethings not right there.

Rollins worst run was 15.5 in his 5 spd, but his computer is ferked. He did a 15.2 in the VCT which is heaps heavier.

Oh well, hope you had fun!

Re: EB XR8 & EL XR6 1/4 MILE TIMES

It was at Hidden Valley, Darwin, so it would have been around 32 that night.

The 60 foot time was 2.6 seconds.
136.42 KM was the speed.

Cheers!

Re: EB XR8 & EL XR6 1/4 MILE TIMES

my ED manual really seems to pull harder than my dads 95 auto xr6. Best i've done is a 15.99 (just under 16! Yay!) at 87, or 141km/h. The XR6 would be a little slower than that i think.

What revs did you dump the auto at? Dumping at around 2500-2800 will get you heaps better times than that. 32C heat isn't going to make your machines that slow. The BA XR6, was it a new car that he didn't know how to drive or what? Any XR6T should be doing 14's easy
