hey ive got fault code 34 coming up on my diagnostice tests, ive changed the EGR sensor but im still getting it, do i have to reset my EEC-IV computer?
the car is running like a pig. any input is appreciated! thanks

Try checking your EGR Vacum Solenid. It is mounted on the drivers side shock tower. It has two pipes and an electrical connection. One pipe goes to the EGR, the other goes to a canister mounted underneath it.

yeh ive checked that, not exactly 100% sure if its working. ive been told its only there for controling cruise control, not sure tho, i might change the unit.

No its there for the EGR and you cannot get them any longer. 2nd hand ones seem to go for $3-500 unless you get a wrecker who doesn't know what they are, also they are only fitted to ED/ED V8's which makes them scarce.

A faulty EGR shouldn't make it run like a pig, it can give you detonation and possibly overheat the engine.

My 3.9L EB has the solenoid. Far as i know they r fitted to all falcons EA and up.

Are you sure? we are not talking about the EGR solenoid here, its the vacuum assist vaccum solenoid which feeds the EGR system. It is mounted on the drivers side shock tower and consists of a small vacuum bottle and a solenoid. In V8's it is only fitted to EB and ED V8's and I didn't think any I6's had it.

Ok, sorry i fort he meant the EGR solenoid not the EVP sensor.
