gday, may someone please give me an estimate as to how much replacing the computer in an ED would set me back?

Ive read through the forums and have suspected the ECU to be faulty, as falcon is playing with transmission and speedo constantly..

2 Questions do you have a I6 or a V8.
Do you have a manual or auto, either way if it is an I6 I have either that I could sell to you.
$40 for the ED Fairmont auto ECU (Will suit any ED auto)
$150 for the ED manual ECU (out of an XG)
Where abouts do you live??

so is their a difference between the gli auto and the fairmont auto? Also would a ED xr6 ecu work in a ed fmont, would thier be any gains? and wot do u think the aprox price would be?

ED I6

An xr6 ecu is the way to go if you don't want to run a interceptor/piggyback chip. As they have slightly better A/F ratios, an EBII/ED xr6 ecu will plug straight in with no mods. Price for an xr6 ecu is generally between $100-$200.
Not sure if the fairmont ecu is any different to a gli ecu.

Do you think thier would be any noticable gains with an xr chip and would things the the Auto change more agressively? do you guys think it would be worth while to do?

It is a I6 auto, sorry to not inform earlier, these thigns slip my mind when posting... it is gli too. I live within Erskine park, if you arent familiar, just think of wonderland sydney, the area behind it is my neighbourhood lol
