I HAVE A 1994 ED FALCON. I RECENTLY CHANGED THE LEADS AND HAD TO REMOVE THE IDLE SPEED CONTROL TO DO THIS. AFTER REFITTING THE ISC THE CAR BEGAN TO IDLE AT ABOUT 1500RPM THEN SLOWLY RTURNS TO NORMAL IDLE SPEED. I HAVE CHECKED THE BASE IDLE AND CLEANED THE THROTTLE BODY. WHEN DISCONNECTING THE ISC THE CAR IDLES NORMALLY. I HAVE HAVE DISCONNECTED THE BATTERY AND DONE THE APPROPRIATE STEPS FOR THE ECU TO RE-LEARN. THERE WOULD APPEAR TO BE A PROBLEM WITH THE POWER GOING TO THE ISC WHEN NOT REQUIRED. CAN ANYONE HELP?
If all you did was take it off and put it back on, I'd pull it back off and see if something got in it and check the seal. As far as it being energized, there's actually 4 or 5 different types, any idea which one's yours?
