Hey guys for starters id like to say hi...so 'hi'....
Ive been reading ur forum for ages (like since b4 it was on ford forums) its provided much help back when I had my EA, so thanks to all.
Annnnnnyway I was wondering about ED falcons as Im looking at getting one, is there anything to watch out for as far as things going wrong with them?
Also what is a good price?
The one im looking at is a GLI, it has been in a minor prang and had some front end damage (fixed) its fairly average condition externally (couple of scratches, bit of bog and little dings). It has 120k on the clock but im not sure if it has a new dash (wrecker might have put in one with lower ks). Price is $4000....no warranty if it dies the day after tuff luck for me.
does this sound ok?
Have a look at the usual: shocks, oil leaks, brakes, etc.
Also, if it's an auto check the condition of the fluid.
Otherwise these cars I find don't have that many problems, main one is if some dimwit used it for towing boats and didn't wash the undercarriage after; the handbrake usually doesn't work.

If it's been in a front ender - check the front wheel alignment, or the wear on the inside and outside on the front tyres. May need a camber kit. Also check the spare, as it may have spent some time on the front....

Ed's are a good all round reliable car. By the time they were released, the few bugs had been ironed out from the EA. Plus you can enjoy the better 4 speed auto trans and more power from the 4.0L, plus better suspension and stiffer body.
