Ed Xr6

Hey guys, im new to this forum.I dont want to give you my life story, just ask a few questions. Anyways, I am just about to purchase my first car. I am very keen on the ED XR6's. I was just wondering if anyone could give me a little extra info on this model car, such as pros/cons about it. I have the money to buy one, so price is not a problem, but what is a suitable price to pay for a 93/94 XR6 5 speed which has travelled under 160000? Thanks

Re: Ed Xr6

Welcome to the Forums, an ED XR6 is a great car, especially in manual.

I'm not sure of the going rate for one but it should be reliable and not give you many hassles. There are a couple of owners on here who can probably help more.

Re: Ed Xr6

I'm looking at buying one within the next couple of months also, and am yet to find any under $11,000 regardless of condition. This is including both private and car yard sales. Anyway, good luck in your search, I hope you find a nice one.

I bought my auto XR6 in feb this year with 170000kms on it for $7600 in Brisbane.
I have had to fix the rocker cover gasket, cat, and water pump which all up cost me about 100 bucks all up.
So basically one with mileage of about 160000 has passed problem stage but may still have niggling things wrong with it, but these are easily and inexpensively fixed. Just check the normal things you would in a used car.

There was a very good article in last Fridays (27/6/03) Melbourne Sun on the XR6. It mentioned what to look for in purchasing a second hand one.

Re: Ed Xr6

Well actually, I ended up buying a car last week. But it wasnt an ED XR6. I bought a EBII Gli 5 Speed with lotsa goodies like lowered, tickford rims, tinted windows, CD player and speakers and extracters and exhaust. Wasnt a bad buy for $6500. Theres alot of things I want to do to it, make it a really nice car, maybe enter it in a few shows if it comes up alright.
