EEC Questions.

just wondering if it is possible to run a EL EECV computer in an ED without installing a BBM? the reason i ask is because i want to run thermo fans in my next car but i want the computer to control the switching. also would it get better economy because the injectors are shot in seperate stages unlike EECIV which is shot in two lots of three? thanks if you can help.

Re: EEC Questions.

i was going to do the same thing awhile ago, but i was told that i couldnt run the EF-EL Computer with out the BBM.

You can run thermos without the computer, if you get a thermo switch to turn the fans on and off. Mine work perfectly, but i understand what you are after.

Re: EEC Questions.

You sure can, I had an EL ECU in my car long before I hooked the switch for the BBM up.

Which I only did today lol

Injectors still fire in batches of three.

Re: EEC Questions.

Yes you could. I plugged the EL ECU in before I put the manifold on to see if it worked, it worked 100%

If you have a trip computer it'll be fubar though.

Re: EEC Questions.

Reckon there's any gains to be had by putting an EL ECU into an EB/ED???? Very curious about this.

Re: EEC Questions.

Minor, really. It's best advantage is in running the BBM and thermos. The knock sensor can help a little, but will not control knock to any great extent.
