hi guys i have an ef falcon since new and i have clocked up around 150,000 klms on it and i am starting to get some electrical faults creaping into it, and i am not sure on where to look because it is effecting all three areas at once like the aircon cuts out and then the wippers dont work, then i switch on the radio and it dosent work some how they are linked together, i did all the comon checks fuses, earths relays etc, but carnt seam to put my finger on the problem or where to start looking now can someone help out here please with any surgestions.

could be the ignition switch as they are on the accesorey circuit.

thanks ian, is there a way to test this befor going out and replacing the switch, or how can i do checks on this.

some times just moving the key does it but if you take the covers off the column and check that it is not loose

hey Ian you are right on the money it was just a matter of moving the position of the key, is there ant way of fixing this or is it a replacement job of the tumbler because it is (simpily just worn out).

you will find it is the electrical section so that will need replacing.Being as it has smart lock when you put the new one in you need to leave the key turned on for 30 minutes for it to reset.

would it pay to change out the whole lot key and all the smartlocking system for less hastles later on.

no just need the electrics even if you change the lot you will still need to reset it.And also the door locks will need changing.

ok Ian thanks for all your online diognostics with out your advice i would have been pulling out all the electrics to try and find the issue, once again thanks you are a champ.if i may i might need your help again when i get to the stage of the repair in the future, now i now exactly where to look and go it wont be such an issue anymore for my wife who drives the car.
