Greetings all,
I'm looking at buying an EF XR6, just wondering what sort of problems I should look out for. I know the EA-D had head problems, dose that still exist in the ef?

Alloy heads corrode and nothing speeds this process up faster than using tap water in your cooling system.

A head job on a Ford is just part of life really, late EL's and AU on with the Intech engines and metal head gaskets seem to be holding out ok, but they are not that old yet so only time will tell.

If you buy the EF, just put aside about $800 for a headjob, you will need it sooner or later.

I picked up my new EL xr6 today,The most important thing on them,is head gasket has been done ,cooling system is flushed and check the suspension.(front)
If its a manual,ensure the fire wall isnt cracked and the clutch pedal isnt cracked or broken,Other than that no other issues that I know of that stand out.

My car needs a wheel alignment badly which I will fix on thursday.
front tyres are worn,The car has got huge amounts of torque,great car to drive,only draw back would be,I asume its got a HD clutch in it making it ,a struggle in traffic.
