EFII Fairmont V8

Just wanted to ask for an opinion.

I have had a look at a EFII Fairmont V8 today. It has the Tickford factory body kit, Tickford suspension and aftermarket alloys. The paint and general condition of the exterior is immaculate, almost unbelievable. It's the same story with the interior, excellent condition. It has no engine mods at all, the engine just purs through the gears. The car has one owner and serviced at the same dealer since new. The asking price was $14500, but they agreed to $13900.

What do you think?

Thanks Great White. It has 149000km but you wouldn't pick it by the look of the car!

Ratt,

Sounds like a good car, if it's been looked after than 149k on the clock especially for a Windsor V8. Do the usual and don't leave a stone unturned check the radaitor and listen to the engine.
Also when driving listen and feel how the auto changes gears, should be smooth and no jolts or thumps. When accelerating hard gears should kick down reasonably urgently.

Also i've had a look at the EF Fairmont V8 market and most of them have relatively high km's as owners of V8's tend to do alot of hwy driving. The one you found sounds like a nice buy. Whats more if it has a genuine Tickford Body kit identified by the Tickford plate you'll be a full member in the club.

It gets my seal of approval too - especially considering the comparative rarity of the V8 models. Hope all goes well!

I had a look at everything. I didn't drive it, my girlfriend did with me in the passenger seat! I get my license back on the 1st of August (as some would know). But everything looked spot on I could not pick a fault. I don't mind the k's as the car looks as if it's done alot less.

Thanks for the advice Gary. The only thing I don't like is the fact that it has two tone paint, white on top and grey from the stripe down?! Although I do know someone who could paint it properly for nothing. The alloys are also 3 spoke... But that can be changed as well.
