I think I have stuffed the ecu on my EF XR6. Jumpstarting without proper efi jumper leads. It surges when idling, cooling fans come on when I start the car on a cold morning, trans econ/power mode light blinks, trans goes into final overdrive at 55kmhr-1100rpm.

Anyone know if there are alternatives to tested second hand ecu's or new ford ones? Any answers before I book with auto elec and he tries to overcharge me.

Hmmm could try resetting it, when did you do this? Did the battery go flat or something? Maybe it's in the learning process now.

I have reset it a couple of times after putting headers on it, months ago. I jumpstarted others while camping(listening to radio all night & jetskiis after not much use)
