Hey all

Just bought a EL Fairmont today, for details check here

Just wondering if anyone knows if a LSD came standard with this model? I know the Ghia got all the tickford stuff, but this thing sits pretty low, was tickford suspension an option?

Apart from the normal head gasket issues (the EA taught me all about them) is there anything specific to the EL problem wise that im likely to encounter?

Like my EF Fairmont, Tickford suspension was an option, but only with the 16" XR wheels. And just like you, I too have just found out today what the 'E' series head gasket problems are all about.

JC you blow a head gasket? bad luck man

oh and another thing, my stereo has a button for CD, but i dont see no slot in the dash, nor could i see a stacker in the boot.......so, should I have a stacker somewhere?

Another option - if you buy the matching stacker, the head unit will run it, but the stacker is dearer than a good quality aftermarket H/U (around the $695 mark)

Is it covered by waranty? Or are you going to get an XR6 head?

Yes, already (I suspect it was on the way out, and my driving style hastened it a little) - and it's covered by warranty.
