Weren't they 172kW? The FPV site states it was 170kW but I'm sure all the brochures and magazines said it was 172kW. I've got an EL XR brochure in my desk at work (as you do) but it's for Series II. I'll check my Motor mags when I get home.

They were officially tagged 170kw, that is what it is in the vehicle manual and the Ford specs book.

Im going from memory, from what my vehicle book states.

The 170 was for EFXR8.

Mine is not one of the first ELs but one of the last ones, as built date is 9/97.

Im pretty sure there was only 1kw difference from the EFXR6 to the EFXR8 when originally released, cause I remember thinking that 1kw difference in the XR8 was BS and definetly a
