i want to know what type of v8 would go in to my 89 ea fairmont and what would i have to convert i have a cfi with gas and i still want to keep the gas .

any help will do

You could probably get a 5lt EB motor from the wreckers but be prepared to pay top dollar. Cheaper to convert to multi point injection 139kw as compared with 120kw cpi.

ea's never came out with v8's so be prepared to pay for an engineers certificate ontop of the v8 conversion costs. If a V8 is what you like, go for it, but IMO you can better spend that money on the 6 and make it go a hell of a lot better than the 8 would...

you would have to go with a windsor v8, the clevlands are to wide and wont fit in the engine bay correctly

it will have to be straight gas (in qld anyway) might be easier to do up a six, but so much more fun in an 8

xd engine mounts bolt straight in, c4 auto fits snug with minor drilling of new mount holes, cut bonnet...ad shaker bobs my and your uncle

...upgrade suspension, remove old wiring loom, install new wiring loom, install V8 computer, upgrade fuel system... this is assuming its an EFI V8 you're going with. Why you'd want a carby V8...

easiest way would be to get a whole wrecked car and swap over the parts...it would take a bit of work, but would be great to see an ea running around with an 8!

yes,carby .. thats why straight gas. upgrade of brakes, shocks etc would be advisable with more powerful 6 any way. dump old loom for limited loom with out computer..twin system exhaust ( one out each side cause gas tank in boot, so why wouldnt you ) snot a prob. and why you ask.. 351 nicely worked over will produce much more ponies than any modern 5.0l any day.. go the 5 speed or c4 auto, 9inch with disc... sounds better looks better goes harder and on gas is better fuel economy and is diff than every other car out there... strive to be an individual!!!

Some one once asked how to convert his 6 cyl commode to a v8. Ill give you the same answer. Easy !

Get a big black texta, a bit of cardboard, write "4 SALE" on cardboard. :-)

Sell 6 cyl and start with an 8 as they are really different cars. Suspension, brakes, radiators ( i think ). The list goes on and on. It'll only end in tears.
