I can't remember if this has been covered before but I thinking about the back in the olden days when there was multiple V8s to choose from ie 302 & 351 & I was thinking do you think there is a place for the the BOSS 260 or even Turbo 6 on non XR models I can understand that putting these engines in lesser models may lessen the XRs image but what about the on a premium model like the Fairmont Ghia as hey some people want performance & luxury or do you guys rekon they should keep the premium engines to the performance models. My other worry was that once these engines were optioned they would be getting too close to the FPV range in price so that its not worth the bother.

What does everyone else think

In essence a GT-p is a Fairmont Ghia with a Boss 290 and your estimation of the pricing impacting on the FPV range is probably correct.

The Fairmont Ghia was available with the VCT as an option, and this two was the higher of the two XR6 options.

I think there's room for a Turbo 6 Ghia for sure.

Turbo six..

The Ghia is closest to the XR cars.. It previously had the XR6 engines slightly detuned. Make a limited Ghia Manual avalible, no extra body kit, just a manual turbo. Say 100 units. Most definately sell.

There is no FPV turbo six yet. Besides its the sleeper.. FPV is in a diffrent ballpark. Fairmont Ghia and LTD should be sleeper cars but optioned atleast on special request or limited editions with turbo 6 and BOSS 260 or even 290 in the V8 if there is no FPV Long wheelbase car.

Boss 260kw should be added to the LTD atleast.

I'll be replacing the AU fairmont with a BA Ghia (6) or XR6T next year. I'd buy a turbo 6 Ghia if the price jump wasn't too great.

Build a Ghia with the Turbo 6 and bring back another old favourite - the Ghia ESP!

Personally I think that a n/a 6 or the lower end V8, I would hate to see the XT, Farmont, Fairmont GHIA, Fairlane or LTD (do they still make them) take anything away from the sportz version.

If you want the sportz options buy the model that has them or is that to nieve....

Give the Ghia the turbo6 but leave it auto. I agree with not seeing a bulge in the ghia thats what the xr8 and gt are for.
